Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit is a famous Indian actress known for her performances in the films Beta Saajan and Hum Hain Kun..! In the late 80s, she began her acting career. She became well-known for the character Tezaab which she played alongside the veteran actor Anil Kapooor. Her next film was the movie Dil where she starred alongside Aamir Khan. Born into a middle-class family in Mumbai she began learning to dance at an early age. She started acting when a youngster and struggled for several years because many of her early film projects were unsuccessful. She eventually became one of the biggest actresses of Indian film. Following her marriage she had an absence from the industry before returning to the film industry. In recent years, Dixit played a significant role on Gulaab Gang a movie about the struggles of women in India. Dixit was nominated fifteen times to win Filmfare Awards. She won eight of them. Padma Shri was awarded to Dixit, India's fourth highest civil honor. She also has a reputation as a social activist.
